There are two churches in Kenmare. Holy Cross which is a Roman Catholic Church, it is located just off the square. St.Patrick’s Church of Ireland is located at Belheights. Both churches have beautiful architecture and are worth a visit. The Holy Cross mass is at 10:00am week days. On Sundays there is mass at 9.30am and 12noon.

A: The closest airport to Kenmare is Kerry Airport which is located in Farranfore. Farranfore is approximately 50mins drive from Kenmare. Cars are available for hire at the airport. Whilst traveling from Farranfore, you will see breathtaking and spectacular views. The Molls Gap route takes you through the beautiful National Park and through the mountains which is an exhilarating experience.

A: The population of Kenmare has a large catchment area. This includes Castlecove, Sneem, Kilgarven, Tuosist and Lauragh. The population has increased in the last few years to over 7,000 people. This figure includes all of the above catchment areas!

A: There is a tourist office in Kenmare. It is located next to the courthouse on the Square. Its open during the tourist season and provides information about Kenmare and its surroundings.

A: Every Wednesday there is a market in Kenmare. At this market local products is sold. The market takes place on the Square and has a very friendly atmosphere. Local produce such as fresh vegetables, potatoes, cheeses and breads can be bought here.

A: There are two banks in Kenmare. There is a Bank Of Ireland which is situated on the Square. There is also an AIB which is located in Main Street. Both banks have ATM’s and also have foreign exchange facilities. There is also an ATM in The Supervalu and Centra Shop.
