HISTORY OF HOLY CROSS COLLEGE
Our School is 31 years old. In 1967 Kenmare Boys School amalgamated with S. Claire's
Secondary School. The school is on the grounds of St. Claire's under the trusteeship of
Sisters of St. Claire. Enrolment has increased to two hundred and seventy pupils at
present. A very high standard of education exists throughout the school. INTRODUCTION
Classes are divided alphabetically and streamed into higher and ordinary level for each
subject as required after first year. Student always have an option of doing higher or
ordinary level in each subject. There is no such thing as "Pass" or
"Honours" class. All subjects have at least four 45 minute classes per week.
This is essential to obtain good grades on higher level papers both at Junior Certificate
and Leaving Certificate Examinations. DESIGNERS
