The Meal
When the meal is ready to be served, the Manager shows the Guests to their seats.
The Best Man announces the arrival of the Bride and Groom. The Guests rise
and greet them with applause. The Best Man calls on the Priest to say Grace and the
meal commences.
Cutting the Cake
The Best Man will announce this after coffee is served. The Groom lays his hand over
the Bride's and they make the first cut. The cake is then whisked away to be cut into
small portions and distributed to the Guests with coffee.
Toasts and Speeches after the Meal
The Best Man calls on the Father of the Bride who makes his speech and ends by proposing a
toast to the Bride and Groom.
The Best Man calls on the Groom who ends his speech by proposing a toast to the
Bridesmaids.
The Best Man replies and makes his speech. He may call on others to speak as
necessary.
The Best Man reads the cards and telegrams.
Departure
Bride and Groom will time their departure so as to ensure that the music
continues for a while after they have gone away. Before that, they will
have changed into their going-away clothes. When the Best Man has checked that the
car and luggage are in place he announces that the happy couple are about to leave.
( The car may be unnecessary as the Tree-House/Robertson Suite are close at hand ).
After the Wedding
Check that the wedding clothes and wedding presents are packed and taken home. Cake
may be kept for those who could not attend.
