I think that indeed a whole lot can be inferred about a person simply by looking at where they live and how they run their home. It is perhaps due to this more than any synchronicity that people passing through Kenmare so often choose to stay and live here.
As you walk down the streets of this small town you notice that almost every family has taken the time to create a garden or to decorate the windows with some beautiful plants. The streets are clean, the grass on the pastures in mowed, almost every shop window display is a small work of art. Every fireplace brings much cheer and joy.
It takes little time to start enjoying this atmosphere. It is as if you have walked into a hallmark card and found yourself surrounded by magic. Fairies are hiding between the lushly entwined trees as the sun winks at you through the clouds.
There is little clubbing here. The night life is not spectacular. You will not get to see all the latest movies or enjoy every sport. It will rain fiercely and often. And yet there will be contentment, beauty and a breathtaking sense of serenity.
